Hi folks:
Was wondering what you found was the most versatile PPPoE connxn manager for Windows 9x.
Versatile in terms of
<LI>Footprint on system & system resources
<LI>Stability of connection
<LI>"advanced" features, like decent connxn debugging etc.
<LI>other features that you may find useful
</OL>
Thus far I've been recommended to RASPPPoE, but currently use NTS, which to me is the tool of the devil! Before I put in RASPPPoE was wondering if any of u have more recommendations for me.

TIA

Hi Ex-Static-Cling,

Back when I was using PPPoE software I had EnterNet 300 and it was OK, but I switched to RasPPPoE which was better. I soon got a router with built in PPPoE so I don't bother with that stuff anymore :D. So I would recommend RasPPPoE or a router with PPPoE support (comes with advanced features like firewall, etc.)

Good list here: http://www.dslreports.com/pppoe

Raspppoe is definitely the most stable and requires the least overhead for Win9x. It's just the "PPPoE'd" network protocols, bound to DUN.

Problem is it doesn't have the connection diagnostic functions that you mentioned. I got EnterNet 300 from telco when I got DSL, and it DOES have those diagnostic functions, but a price of a couple o' blue screens every day if used in Win9x ;).

I too got a router that could act as a PPPoE client, so thankfully that stuff is gone for me as well.
