I found a copy of 'Return to Zork.' I foolishly tried to install it on my PII (Win98) 400. Now the system boots to a faulty game. Help me, Please!
Start tapping F8 when it's booting up - you should get a boot menu. Choose Safe Mode. Run msconfig and do a selective startup, disabling config.sys and autoexec.bat. Restart. This should get you back into Windows. Now all you have to do is figure out which lines in those 2 files were put there by your install and remove them - and then you can re-enable them in msconfig.

I followed your instructions with some help from my pal, N. We knocked-off the start-ups. It worked. I then deleted the entire file off my drive. This game was made for 386/486 machines. I'll wait until I can boot multiple OS's before I try to play it.
