everytime i restart my computer, i lose my homepage.

it is replaced with a dodgy looking search engine, is it a virus or what.

Download and run AdAware (www.lavasoft.de) and Spybot: Search & Destroy (www.safer-networking.org). These problems are caused by spyware.
