i have wins me over wins 98se is it safe to defrag ive heard that in me after defrag files are misplaced or turn up missing is this rumer true?? or has anyone had any problems with defrag in wins me thanks for any responces!

I upgraded from win 98 to ME and have no problems with defragging. ME will defrag your comp. in less then 1/4 of the time that 98 did. Go for it. TPM

Nasty rumor from those that are afraid of something new. Two machines at home and one at work all with "dirty" installs (Deleted WIN.COM and installed over previous Windows version) and no problems. I defrag nightly.

I have had zero problems with ME defrag, clean or upgrade. Also many users of win 98 are installing the defrag from ME on their OS.
