Okay; prelim. specs, i'm running win 98SE, all high end hardware.

I was trying to install some software for my wireless keyboard, but when it came time to finish the instalation a prompt popped up and it said " make sure C:\Windows\TEMP\_isA292\1033.mist is on your computer and is acessable" well I did check for it, and as it turns out the folder '_isA292' isn't even there, much less '1033.mist'. Could someone help me out, with maybe replacing, or finding this file so I could get that software installed.

things i've tried: Regestry healer; result: no effect on said problem.

things i haven't tired: rebooting.

I would imagine that it is on the software cd and should have been put in the temp folder, but for some reason wasn't. You might try browsing the software cd for it or restart the install and be sure you don't have anything running in the background that might disrupt the installation.

Plus I'd try the Venders web site and see if this is a problem for others and see if theres a fix !

Restart in safe mode and delete all files and folders in c:\windows\temp - then reboot and start your installation over.

not to shoot you down, glc, but what would this accomplish?
If I knew, then I would do it, I appriciate the advice, but what does this action do?

oook! I found something '1033.mst' was on the CD, I'm just gonna create a folder named '_isA292' and that'll could do it.
I'll check back if it works.

All the files in c:\windows\temp left over after a reboot are useless baggage. You are going about this wrong - your install is probably having trouble writing to your temp because it's got too much junk in it, including residue from aborted installs. I clean mine out once a week.

it doesn't seemed to have worked, I'm gonna reboot it and then try again.

If that doesn't work, reinstall your Windows Installer.

99% of the time if the software is well built it will have a web site or page of fixes or step by step of how to fix a problem

I guess you could try it if all else fales
