Ram issue plz help

Hi

i just bought 1gb off pc 3200 but its only running at 333mhz

is this because my athalon 2600 has a 166 fsb speed

and how do i find out the make off my ram cos when they got delivered they both had heatsinks on them and cant seem to get them off id there a program that identifies memory sticks

is there any lettering/numbers on mem stick? if so do a google search,that may help.i ran my numbers and it gave me the maker's name

You could possibly run your ram asynchronous to your system bus and up it to 400, but that will decrease overall performance; leave it in sync. Of course, you can also overclock your system and bring everything up a notch...
