hi,
Is it possible to lock the PCI/AGP bus on a motherboard that has it unlocked?

I am using an AOpen ak77-8xn motherboard using the Via KT400a chipset.
When i go into the bios and raise the fsb the fsb of the pci and agp also raises and i want to know if it is possible to lock them so they do not go higher so i can overclock the pc without having to worry abot data corruption or the ruining my AGP card.

I'm not familiar with that motherboard...have you looked around in BIOS to see if you can lock those buses?
AOpen isn't really known for overclocker friendly motherboards, so I wouldn't be surprised if you can't lock the PCI and AGP buses.

that chip doesnt support the AGP/PCI lock, only the nforce2 chipsets do that. KT400A relies on a 1/5th divider...so your PCI clock will be 1/5 of your FSB.
