All Small Icons Have Turned to Black Squares

This is more of an annoyance than a problem. What has happened, is one by one, almost all of the small icons have turned into black squares as icons. Large icons are not affected at all. Even in one of the IE5.5 toolbars, one of the icons (MS Word 2000) has turned into a black square. The icons in my system tray are fine, but icons in my quickstart menu and taskbar and start menu are all black squares. When I go into Windows Explorer, everything has the same black square...even all the folders. I don't think it was something that I did, because I mainly use the computer for gaming and internet.

Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried to repair them with Tweak UI? It may be worth a try!

Well, assuming you've downloaded the ZIP file, double click on TweakUI.cpl and you're in business!

Tweak UI also comes with the Win95 and Win98 [first editition only] buried deep into a Tools or somewhat similar folder. To install right click on the .INF file and select INSTALL from the drop down menu.
