I just set up a Logitech Cordless Comfort Duo (cordless keyboard and mouse) on a friend’s new Dell running XP Pro. I’ve installed the iTouch software and both devices work fine. However, there is one problem with the keyboard: When you log out of Windows XP, and log back in, you have to hit the num lock button on the keyboard as it gets turned off every time you log out of XP. How do you make the num lock stay on?

There's sometimes a setting in the BIOS that says "Num lock [ON/OFF]" at startup. Turning that on might do the trick.

I already checked that. It's set to numlock "on".

Normally, XP and 2K will "remember" - turn the numlock on as soon as Windows starts, after a few times it *should* stick.

OK, thanks George.

On my computer XP remembers whether the numlock key was on or off for each user and turns it on accordingly. If the numlock key is off when you log out, then it will probably be off when you log in.

glc,
I took your suggestion and no luck. Hi Ho, keep in mind this is a Logitech Cordless keyboard. The num lock light is on the little receiver, and it goes out (num lock off) when ever you log out. Then when you log back in, it stays off until you press the num lock button again on the keyboard,

I don't know then. Mine is a Microsoft Multimedia keyboard. It is probably different.

If you don't need all the extra buttons, uninstall the ITouch software, see if that makes a difference.
