Keyboard repeat

I was given a Microsoft keyboard that looks a lot nicer than the generic kb that I've got, so I installed it.

Problem is even tho I increased the Repeat Rate and the Repeat Delay to the maximum, I still cannot touch any key without getting a long string of repeat characters.

There's nothing in the bios that was useful.

I've heard that you can do some manual editing that will solve the problem but I don't have a clue how to do this.

I'm hoping someone here can tell me what to do.

Maybe that's why it was given to you. :) Anyway, make sure you are decreasing the repeat rate, not increasing it.

I guess I was rather ambiguous.

When I said I increased the repeat rate what I actually meant
was I increased the INTERVAL between the repeats i.e.
I DECREASED the repeat rate.

I type pretty fast but apparently not fast enough to stop the repeat characters.
