I need to capture some video in FCP on a Mac, But I want to be able to edit it in Adobe Premiere on my PC.
I have a 40gig external drive, can I plug it into the mac, capture the video, and then plug it into the PC.
Will the PC see it, or are Mac hard drives formatted differently?
I just read that FAT32 is compatible with OS X. I also read that OS X can *read* NTFS, but I don't know if it can write to it.

What Im more concerned about is, can Windows XP read a Mac formatted external drive?

But if the drive is formatted FAT32 then I should be good to go as I will be able to write using both PC and Mac?
I believe so, just remember that FAT32 has a 4gb single file size limitation and you need to append the proper file extension to the file name when you write it with the Mac so the PC knows what it is.

Ok, thanks.
I am not a Mac person, so if anyone knows anything to the contrary to what I posted, please chime in.
I did stick a FAT16-formatted 64mb USB key into a Powerbook a few weeks ago, and it mounted it and put it on the desktop, so I *assume* (dangerous) that your external drive will behave similarly. I was able to write files to it, dismount it, and put it into a PC to copy the files back off.
