is it possible to network with dial up? one computer is connecting with peoplepc then running out of the ethernet card into a 24 port hub then running out into my computer. just tryin to network to play lan with some games. what am i doing wrong? just cant get it to work right. i ran the network wizard and everything, both computers are sending a receiving packets through the network i created. please help. thanks

that should work ok but you will need to set up ics and the system that has the modem connection would need to be on all the time for the other systems to be able to connect at any time.

ok, ics= internet connection sharing right? in the connections folder the connection used to connect to the internet is shared... and its also firewalled, would that present a problem? if so how do i disable the firewall? i cannot right click and go to properties...
Yes, it's the XP firewall that's blocking your local networking. Turn it off on the local connections that connect the 2 machines, not the connection to the Internet.
