Ok so heres what happens. After I installed Windows XP Pro I see my mouse automatically moving to the default button in almost every dialog box. So i check my mouse control panel and the 'SnapTo' function is turned off. HELP! I must turn it off some how. Its driving me insane. Any one have any ideas?

what kind of mouse is it. Does it need drivers and are the drivers the most current and up to date?

It is a usb off-brand mouse that came with no drivers. I ran a Windows Update and it told me to download the imb mouse software. This same problem is happening to my friends computer. It has a usb optical mouse.

My mouse is not optical and it does have a wheel. My friends mouse is a black IBM usb wheel mouse and is having the same problem with Windows XP Pro.

it might be a usb problem do you have the ps/2 adapter that it came with if it came with one. If you do i would try setting up the mouse thru the ps/2 port and see if that fixes the problem

In control panel, on my system anyway, under mouse properties, motion tab, there is a setting to always select the default selection, when checked it does as you say yours is doing, mine is unchecked. Hope that helps, if not ....
Good luck :)
