IMHO it realy doesn't make much difference.
if you need it a lot and it's hard to get to you can leave it on, but if you can easly reatch the on/of button and you yourself have to pay a large energy-bill i'd say turn it off

My printer goes on by itself when I click print. I usualy forget to turn it off. It really doesn't make any difference. I doubt it would make more than a penny's difference in a power bill.

Alot of printers have a Power Save of Sleep Mode anyway. If mine is untouched for 30 mins or so, it goes into such a state.

I leave my inkjet on. Most lasers have a sleep or power saving mode.

If the cartridges are parked, I don't see what difference it makes whether the printer is on or off........

My officejet has Power Save Mode. Cartridges may dry out or possibly even leak if left unused for a long period of time, regardless of whether the printer is on or off. As long as your printer is going through the motions every so often, that's not much of a problem.
