Ok , I am using Eudora 5 for email right now and have it to check mail every 5 min, but in order for this to work I have to leave to window open on my desktop. I would like to minimize to system tray if possible and only have the email program running in the background and still notify me when I have mail. Is there anyway to do this using eudora or is there another program that will do this for me?

Hi sc0rched,
I would recommend VMail. It is a little program that sits in your system tray and checks your email at set time intervals and displays the number of emails in the tray as a number. It has many features and I think it is the best of the many similar programs that I have tried. Check it out:

Hope that helps.

scOrched, I use Eudora 3.0 and leave it running but
minimized. When I get mail a small envelope appears on taskbar. I maximize Eudora and there's the mail.

DrZaius - thanks for the link, i will take a look and let you know how i like the program.
Carlgif - Thats what i am currently doing. I leave it minimized but it still appears in the taskbar. What I want is just to have a little icon that stays in the systray and says when i get new mail.

ok well i found an email program that will minimize the system tray and check mail every few minutes. Its called "The Bat". I found it at shareware.com. it looks to be a nice program but unfortunately it looks to be a 30 day trial and then you are supposed to register. i dont know what happens if you dont but aside from that this program is exactly what im looking for.

I have ICQ checking the mail.
Newmail will open Eudora when you get mail if you want it to.
