I have 2, one at work and one at home. I've gamed a little and it seems fine no problems. The one at work is for computer aided design and it too works very well.:)

if it works good for CAD, it should work good for games. the only thing this doesnt apply to is video cards. if youre going to be OCing, get yourself a mobile 2500+. those are laptop chips, but they have a lower default voltage making them better overclockers. they are socket 462 just like the desktop version.

Yes, but make sure you get a good motherboard, video card, power supply, RAM, hard drive...heck, just make sure everything else is good too. It doesn't make sense to spend time picking out a good processor and then buy any old thing for the rest of your parts.

Looks okay to me, but if you're going to overclock, you'll want faster RAM like PC3200. And I'm not familiar with NVidia video cards and don't know how good the FX 5200 is. Gainwood does make good video cards though (at least they used to).

What case and power supply are you going to use?

its ok, but your memory and motherboard will limit your overclock, because your memory is probably already rated at CL2.5, and your motherboard doesnt make use of an AGP/PCI lock. your video card shouldnt have any problem playing directX 8.x games, but it really suffers in DX9 apps. i assume your card has 64-bit memory, as the only 5200s that come with the 128-bit memory are the 5200 ultras. 64-bit memory is a very crippling factor. my card has 128-bit memory, and the 5900 has 256-bit memory. the 5900 blows my card away, even for as high as my card is clocked, it still gets beaten. a more powerful card is the only thing you really need for your system. with a decent card, such as 9600XT/5700 ultra your computer will feel like it has new life to it.

my case is antec lanboy w/ a 350 watt power supply and my agp slot does have a lock

not that kind of lock, its a BIOS feature that locks the speed of the AGP/PCI bus in order to avoid hardware failure and hard drive corruption. check out my lanboy (http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=89074&highlight=pics+of+my+modded+lanboy)

whats your budget? if youre looking under $200, you can now get a radeon 9800 pro at best buy for $200. if $150 is your range, www.newegg.com sells the radeon 9600XT for $150.
