IE Illegal Operations closes windows

When I run IE, it frequently closes because of illegal operations. Also about 75% of the time i type into the browserm it will go crazy. For example, if I type pcmech, it'll put it ppcccccmeeechcc and then close because of illegal operations. It is very aggrivating. Any help will be most appreciated

Do a comprehensive virus, trojan, and spyware scan.

Already have. I've scanned for viruses several times with up-to-date virus definitions.

what all do you have running, scanners, programs, etc.. Have you run a spyware/adware scan? http://www.lavasoft.de/

Well I installed Ad-Aware 6.0 and did the scan. It removed about 80-85 new objects. It seems to be doing fine now, but once I removed a bunch of programs that I know I didnt install and it stopped for a couple days. If the problem continues, I'll post another message
