Day of Defeat lag

when ever i download a custom map and try to play it it lags horribly. It never lags on regular maps and it can't be my graphics card or computer becuase they are very much up to date. I've tried redownloading the maps but that didn't work. Any suggestions?

Do you play on the same servers? Maybe the servers you play the downloaded maps on are on some random old computer in some guys basement but the actual regular standard maps you play are on good servers. More support for the regular maps therefore easier to find a good server.

I always play on the same server and other people don't have problems with lag on i do.

Hmmmm..... did they download the maps from the same place as you?? Also, are the downloaded maps any larger in your memory than the regular maps?? Because it could be that, once happened to me on CS on a map a friend made

yes they downloaded from the same place but i'm not sure abou the memory thing
