Trojan problems

Hi all,

I let someone use my computer over Spring Break. Needless to say, this will be the last time I do this. After coming back and running AVG, it came with two viruses which I believe are trojans:

1. Downloader.Winshow.R
2. StartPage.3.AV

Now I did notice that the startpage had been redirected when I came back. I ran Adware with the latest reference file, but apparently that didn't help as much as I thought it did. The homepage is back to normal, yet AVG still complains about these two.

I'm having a tough finding any information of how to get rid of them? Does anyone out there know? TIA

I think its in the backup files of the system restore option. Maybe you can delete all the system restore points and start a new restore point. Hope this helps. I have had that problem too :)

Thanks for the reply. I ended up deleting the two infected files. As far as I could tell both were to no importance to windows and could very well have been created by the trojan(s) in the first place.

You might want to confirm everything is gone with a Spybot and a Housecall scan.
