Upgrading Laptop Video

First, here's what I've got:

IBM Laptop
P2 366mhz
~300mb RAM
2.5mb video
Windows 2000 Professional

I'm building a real gaming rig in the coming weeks, but in the interim I'd like to boost the video performance on this laptop if possible. 2.5mb isn't cutting it for even some of the more basic games.

My question is, is it costly to upgrade (if even possible)? If so, what would be a good choice and how would it install?

The problem is that there is not a separate video card in the laptop, it is integrated with the motherboard The only exception I know of to this is a very recent Alienware laptop that has a replaceable video card feature. The upgrade costs 200.00 and is a simple user replacement. That is assuming that you have the Alienware laptop instead of the IBM

You are not going to be able to do anything about video without a soldering iron and some real guts (and this is still a big maybe). Nevertheless, that should still be a viable office app and web surfing machine.

To tell you the truth, laptop video upgrade would involve some sereious alteration of the hardware, mainly the MOBO, which I would say probably wouldn't be worth it. I would definately be patient and wait for the new gaming rig - save the money.
