cd rom

Hello....When I insert a cd rom the computer reboots If I leave the cd in it just stays in a loop of rebooting. This is the case for any cd I place in the drive... I was wondering If it could be the

1. Cd rom drive bad
2. psu
3. just needs cleaning

Any Ideas please let me know....Thanks

What brand of CD drive? What is the CD you leave in there?

It doesn't matter...I put 5 different cds in and it reboots....Its a Compaq computer..I don't know the brand of the cd rom drive....Thanks for your reply

Who knows with a compaq. :rolleyes:

Check in the BIOS to see if CDROM is listed as one of the boot devices. If it is, try removing it.
