I really don't know what this is..
My home page is stuck on a page that goes "You Are Visiting Pedo Sites" in big red writing at the top (which I can assure you I'm not lol) and then it goes on to say "On September 17th, 2003 FBI started campaign against pedo sites visitors" and there's loads more after that..and then it tells me information like my ISP, My OS and my IP number..and which webrowser I'm using..I can change it...the URL is
C:\WINDOWS\secure.html
Which seems a bit weird...then I'm getting all sorts of pop ups saying how I'm being watched etc and to download
Then the last pop up I get is this
Your IP address is 193.193.167.74. Using this address a remote computer has gained anaccess to your computer and probably is collecting the information about the sites you've visited and the files contained in the folder Temporary Internet Files. Attention! Ask for help or install the software for deleting secret information about the sites you visited.

Your computer is full of evidences!
ISP of transmission: CABLESURF
Your IP address: 193.193.167.74
They know you're using: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1)
Your computer is: Windows XP
Risk status for further investigation: VERY HIGH RISK

It comes up as an internet explorer page but kinda gives the impression of those Blue screens when Windows crashes.
I scanned with Spybot and AVG, but nothing came up...so can someone here please help me...

Okay, I ticked what I have high lighted and I fixed it in HiJacker...I ran Adaware, spybot and CWS...the home page thing is fixed..but now I'm getting more of the really bad pop ups.
JPMiller
04-02-2004, 02:21 PM
Another easy fix is to download and install Spybot and Adaware update them and run both...one after the other
Lobos
04-02-2004, 02:21 PM
yes you will but first
Use Taskmanager (Ctrl-Alt-Del) to end these running processes if you can
(or use Process Explorer)
C:\WINDOWS\DL.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\DLM.EXE
Download and run CWShredder
http://www.thespykiller.co.uk/
Make sure you use the link I've given to get the latest one.
Run it, press 'Fix', and allow it to fix all it finds
Run HijackThis again, push Scan and place a check mark next to the following items using your mouse.
Not all of these entries will still be present - but make sure you get the ones that are.
Next, close all browser Windows, and push the 'Fix checked' button in HijackThis
