Dell 3500 Inspiron Bios Password

I am a third owner of a Dell 3500 Inspiron laptop and I forgot the bios password does anyone know how to bypass or fix?

Can I use Killcmos? Or does anyone have the master password. I did buy a used HD do I still need a bios password or the bios only for bios setup.

You shouldn't need to get into the bios to install a new hard drive.
