Economical External Parallel Disk Drive

Working with old laptops.
NO USB ports.
NO Ethernet.
NO PCMCIA.

The only current way I have to transfer data to and from these machines is with a 3.5 floppy. Not very much fun when multiple disks are needed each transfer.

I'm looking for an external parallel backup drive that handles 256mb of data or more. Any ideas???

Get yourself a parallel "Laplink" data transfer cable and some software that works in DOS, if the machines are that old. I use an ancient version of Norton Commander, but I also have an old DOS version of Laplink itself. I've had good luck with DOS based transfer software in a command window in Windows all the way up to XP.

I already have laplink cables, but haven't been able to get them to work transferring from win95 tp winXP. I was hoping to find an inexpensive parallel connected backup drive that could be used in windows 95. As far as transferring with a DOS program, I don't have any experience with that.

Microsolutions appears to be out of business - they used to have parallel port hard drives. I have one of their "Triple Play" CD burners - it has parallel, USB, and PCMCIA cables.
