I'm looking for parts for my first build and while looking for hardrives, I have noticed one way to boost performance is to install the hardrives in a raid 0 configuration. Ive been looking at the western digital raptor 74 mb. However I believe i have seen there is a problem with system stability with the hardrives in raid 0. Could someone tell me if this is true, if it is what are hte potential dangers of having a raid 0 configuration. thanks.

In a highend gaming pc, would these 74 mb be enough, or would i have to put it in raid 0 to have enough? thanks.

AFAIK there's no unstability of the system if you use RAID 0 (aka stripping). The potential danger here lies in the fact that your information is divided between the two drives, and if one buys the farm, so does your info. It's the same scenario as if you are using just one HD and it goes south: it takes your info with it.
