I was sick of my plain old cheapo computer case. I have metal bent all over the place to make things fit. I wanted a cool looking case, but wanted something factory built (too lazy and inexperienced to design something by myself). Also I have a good power supply (Sparkle 350 W) so I wanted something without the power supply. Well I ended up buy a Demon case (Powmax) for $48 bucks shipped to my house. Here is the link (not the company I bought it from)
Demon Case (http://www.compgeeks.com/details.asp?invtid=DEMON&cat=CAS)
Does anyone that built this case run across any problems? It is bought already so if it really sucks I am stuck with it. I never move my computer so if it is a little flimsy I don't care. I just want something that is bright, cool to look at, and something that has good air flow to lower my cpu temp. I also bought some colored IDE round cables, I couldn't stand looking inside that case to see my old ragged ribbon cables. Anyone know of any tricks to hide power cables and to make the inside look as good as possible? The case comes with three blue led fans, i wish they were red, that would look soo much cooler with that black case. Well thanks for any advice.

hide them behind the mobo and in slots inside the computer...
you can also buy sleeving that will over up any wires...

Well would you be interested in trading those blue ones for red-yellow and orange tri-led fans ?
I have two of them from a case I bought , but they didnt fit with the theme I wanted so I replaced them... now I dont have a good use for them...

JPMiller, I might take you up on that offer, I need to see how those blue led fans actually look like first. If they look pretty decent I will probably just keep them, but it is a definite possibility. I am getting the case tomorrow and will let you know.

That case looks fine. Made by Powmax so quality should be decent. One weird thing is the fan on the bottom of the case...it would make the computer a vacuum cleaner and suck up all the dust off the floor. And I wonder why they put blue LED fans into a case that is painted red inside?

you can always just either put a fan filter or put it on a desk couldn't ya?

I was thinking about putting it on a desk to avoid that fan problem. It does seem kinda weird to put a fan on the bottom of a case. The "vacuum cleaner" may cause problems so I will monitor it. Especially living in Fresno, one of the dustiest parts of the US. And I agree with you cricket, blue on red on black. I think the designers went with one too many colors. I guess I will assemble and see how it looks and works. As for a fan filter that seems like a good idea, what type of material would be good for a fan filter? I was thinking about some aluminum mesh. It would be easier if they were pre-made, will check the local computer shop. The case is "out for delivery" and should have it assembled later on. I will also post a pic and tell you about the quality of the case. For under $50 it may be too good to be true. But if it is decent I feel like it is a cool mod case for lazy people like myself who doesn't like power tools. I use screwdrivers, sockets, and wrenches. I stop at spinning blades.

Gonna need constant cleaning, but since it's made of aluminum you can use a brush to clean it. I used to use these on my computers but I stopped using so many fans in my cases and I blow my computers out regularly so dust build up isn't a problem.

I actually just built my new computer in this case. I was also iffy on the blue on red thing but it doesnt look all that bad. the red looks more like purple or black once the blue light hits it but it doesnt look bad. kinda neat. as far as the case goes it comes apart very easily and has pleny of room to work with. all of my drives lined up nicely, the only thing I had trouble with was mounting my hard drive. but that is only because I had installed 2 intake fans in the front of the case so I had clearance problems between the mobo and hte fans. but I got it sorted out. I also think the little door that covers the front usb is a little flmsy and they could have done better there. I also think that it should have been wired so that the "eyes" can be hooked up as the hard drive led so that they would flash whenever your loading somethiing. I might actually do some cutting and hook it up that way because the case does not come with a hdd led. I would take some pictures and post them of the case all loaded up and lit up but the el' cheapo PSU that I had gotten with my case decided to kick the bucket after about 2 hours of battlefield.. lol
I dont think you will be dissapointed with the case overall though I will post some pictures tomarrow when my parts come in and I get it back up and running. I will also post some pictures of all my wires bundled up so you can see how to hide them

JPMiller, I think I will keep my fans. The Blue Led's don't look that bad. I would rather have red but I don't feel like shipping anything right now. Thanks for the offer though.

By the way here is a distant pic of my case with everything installed. It is real messy inside, so I will need to pick up some covers for my power supply cables or find a way to tuck them better. I have to do some painting, put will put that off for a while. Even though my CD-R, floppy, and DVD are behind a panel I would like to paint the face plates red. Also I would like to paint the mobo faceplate and power supply backing black to match the rest of the back of the case. I now have 8 usb ports hooked up, that is beyond useless. Well I agree with that hard drive led not working with the eyes. That may have to be fixed one day. But for now I will be painting, tucking cables, and hooking every device I have into my 8 USB ports.

Powermax cases ar all-right, their power supplys are not that good, so you will be ok.
One thing I learned on Powermax and many other cases is that when you are building them, take the front panel off and add some more Hot Melt glue to hold in the switches and LEDs. They tend sometimes to use very little on them and you will find them coming loose after a while.
You don't need a glue gun, just a stick of the glue and a BIC to melt it.
By the way, that is a wicked looking case. I saw it a few months back, but haven't found anybody to build for that wants that extreme.

Wow cricket, that is cleaner then a hospital!!!!! I cleaned my case up quite a bit, looks much better. The only problem is that I have 3 case fans and can't find a nice way to set them up. By the way after round IDE cables I will never use ribbon cables ever again! The are much easier to work with and they look super.
