I alrdy tried that and it didn't seem to go away. I was thinkin maybe it was from when i got the virus it kept poping up websites. then after i got rid of it I went to a few RC type sites and got pop ups like that. Is there any other way of clearing it or could some body tell me how to delete ie explorer so i can reinstall.
I am runnin WIN XP Pro the rest of my specs are in my sig. THX

When you try to uninstall IE it will ask you if you want to fix it instead, maybe that would work.
you could also try housecall
http://housecall.trendmicro.com
and A2 although I dont know how good it is since I dont have any trojans on my computer to test it.

You can go in add/remove programs and click on change/remove next to IE, there you should have a repair and uninstall button. But you should try to remove the malware instead so that it doesnt come back.

What is the malware??? Also when i go to Add/Remove programs there is only a thing for ie explorer that says internet explorer Qand then sum numbers. I didn't see a thing that specified internet explorer. Is there any other way of reset ie so that stuff isn't there incase it is from a website i clicked on by mistake. I don't believe i did but incase how would i go about it. THX

I think the IE repair/uninstall is in add/remove windows componenpt in the add/remove programs thing. I think you need to unckeck it and click next and it will give you the option but im not sure about that though. Did those things show up not long ago? If it wasnt long ago maybe you can do a system restore.
malware is all that junk that you dont want comming in your computer like viruses, spyware, trojans, etc...

Have you cleaned out your "cookies" and "temporary Internet files" in the tools area of IE? Click on tools, Internet options, then clear both, plus delete History. That should clean em out.

Yea i cleared all that. I still don't see the uninstall for ie explorer. I did a restore to two days ago and that didn't work. So its gotta be further back. Seriously though I need to figure this out. So i am assumin there is no way of clearin it?

The IE uninstall is part of the Windows Components in Add/Remove programs. Get there: start/control panel/add-remove programs/in the left margin click the Add/Remove windows components. Find IE, uncheck it and say ok. Then I'd reboot the system, go back to the same place, check the box for IE6 and reinstall it.

Okay I uninstalled and reinstalled and now good. Is there anything else to try. SO far i have cleared history, cookies, temp files, ran spybot and ad aware and uninstalled and reinstalled.

Kinda off topic and definitely not meant as a rant against microsoft, but you may want to think about using an alternative browser for surfing. The only reason I suggest this is that IE is integrated into the OS packed right there with windows explorer that you use for navigating system files. Thats why there is no simple uninstall option for it. That is why it shows as a windows component. This also means that it is effect tied to the rest of your OS. By using a different browser you will reduce, if not eliminate the threat of something from the internet fouling up your computer. As a side benefit, if you had a problem like that again you would have a simple uninstall option.

If you do want to use a different browser, I would suggest Mozilla.
