Well I did it... I bought a cheap thin aluminum case that was a knock off of a good case. It cost a bunch too...
Well the damn thing resionates any noise making object mounted inside. Including my stealth fans and hard drive. The noise is driving me nuts! This would be a neer silent PC if I just bought a new case. But I spent a large amount of cash and refuse to spend more.
What options do I have to deaden the sound? It is just the resination so could I do something to stop it?

get a nice cardboard box and make a new case :P
err... try (this is my everlasting tip) putting rubber washers between anything vibrating (like a case fan) and the case... for a hard drive maybe one of those hard drive silencers?

The acoustic mat idea sound great... however I have a case window... so unless I want to cover the window, I am looking for other options.
I think I am gonna suspend my hard drives and place them in their own mini-box inside the case. The box will then rest on foam... that should take care of the drive noise. (don't worry they will be plenty cool I plan to give them lots of air flow.) And I am gonna cut the fan grills off the back end of the case and mount the case fans on the outside with rubber stand-offs... that should take care of the fan noise.
I might also replace the side panel. With something more... sturdy. Maybe.
Any other ideas?

if the problem is that your side panels are to thin and vibrate with the drives then try gluing some weights to the panels.
