i have an aspire x-dreamer 2 and it has 2 (soon to be 3) "uv reactive" fans. i'm going to put in a dfi lanparty board in it and the board has uv sensitive pci, agp, ide, and fdd slots/ports. will the fans i have make the uv sensitive parts glow or are the fans not the right thing? they have i think 4 blue led's in each one. i'll find a link.

It has UV reactive LED fans, which meand that the led's are in the fans and the only thing they will light is the fans. And if they even light the mobo it wil be very little, either get a UV cold cathode lights, or get UV cathode fan grille's. I myself have used both and like the cathode lights better.

Here at Frozen CPU there selling dual UV cathodes, ive been purchasing things from frozen the past few days. Great service, fast shipping.

those fans do not have UV lights, just blue LED's...if they had UV LED's you would get *some* glow but they'd have to be near the board. Ditto what FLG said about FrozenCPU, they get stuff out quick and their prices are decent. For case mod's, I always go there first....look for a single or dual cold cathode light, OR you can buy fans with the round cold cathode lights on them, but at like $10 a pop, you're probably better to get the 12in tube.....

I got the same Mobo, with just 1 blue fan and 2 purple (normal LEDs) in the case the motherboard slots appear to glow as do the round IDE & floppy cables that come with the mobo. Try it without the UV cold cathode first, you might be nicely suprised with the result.

i cant wait to post my "black light i the case"mod fo you to look at....

meanwhile,,, go to the hardware store,,, and get whats called flag tape... its a non-stick tape that you would use to attach to some small stick in the ground to mark soething,,, or to wrap god knows what...

its UV reactive,,, comes in different colors,, and looks great under black light after you wrapped all of your ide/power cbes..

Adding to my post earlier, I've fitted a CC UV tube now and it looked great that was until the tube inverter failed after only one week. Really looks better than just having fans though, in fact it would probably look better having just the tube without LED fans
