Hi,
In the last 3 or 4 weeks I have had emails bounce back to me saying they couldn't be delivered. I never sent them?!? How would someone be able to attach my email address to a email they sent? A couple of them had viruses stripped out of them by my ISP? Anyone have any suggestions on what's going on, and what I can do about it.
TIA
NetSky and MyDoom worms do so, they send an email that looks like a mail delivery notice, with an infected file attached.
Never open the attachment, and make sure that your system isn't infected, by running a virus scan.

I got scammed awhile back and opened an email that I thought was from my wife and had to log in to get it. That gave someone my password and they immediately started spamming people from my box. AOL shut us down until we could change passwords. Sounds like someone got your password as well as your email addy and are using it as a spam base. Try changing your password and see if it stops.

Thanks Guys. aym-7 I have always run up to date virus protection, and this morning I ran Micro Trend on-line virus protection software, I also ran SwatIT would that have detected those worms? I'm not getting a lot. Maybe one every couple of days. Panama Red I'm changing my passwords now!

Most viruses nowadays like infecting and using email addresses already in your computer, because it's easier to spread that way... follows on from the 6 degrees of separation idea
However, your AVP should have stopped that

Thanks Jaggannath, you and aym-7 are probably right. My email address is in my address book. I called RoadRunner my ISP and they thought I had a virus. I ran Stinger which had the fix for the worms aym-7 mentioned and it found nothing.
What is wierd is I only get a couple every other day or so, and they are emails I have sent to other people, they do have some strange attachements added however, which I didn't open. I used Computer Associates online virus checker, MicroTrends, and Panda's they all found nothing. Of course I ran my own virus scan that also found nothing. I then tried this other online virus checker I was told about by a buddy called BitDefender, it did find a couple of viruses and I haven't had anything for 4 days now. I hope that was it. I did change my password like Panama Red suggested, I thought that was it but 3 days later I got the emails again. I think if I go another couple of days what BitDefender found was probably it.
