I recently changed from dial-up to cable and the day I did my machine had a slew of problems. When setting-up I activated the hardware firewall and also made sure the XP firewall was up (running XP home with a Motorola SBG900 modem on Comcast). Anyway, my IE homepage was changed to a "security warning" page that went to a porn site, etc. (I'm not sure but I think a lot of this was lingering from my AOL days and surfaced once I started using IE?)
Based on previous threads I used responses from glc and Lobos and ran housecall (21 hits), CWShredder, Ad aware and Hijackthis and am now also running Zone Alarm for my connection + Spybot. I think I have just about everything cleaned-up but am unsure about a couple of Apps that are running in Task Manager Processes and also appear on my Hijackthis log (specifically hits on Zone Alarm that wscript.exe, deinst_qfe002.exe, aoltray.exe and on one occasion explorer.exe were trying to access the internet). I'm not sure if these are normal files/occurences or if I've become too paranoid now.
If someone could take a look at the following log and set me straight I'd really appreciate it. (Also, I'm fairly new to this so if I've been too long-winded above please let me know - I'm a big boy, I can take the criticism).
Thanks.
