Does any one know if this Mobo has a temp sensor that could connect to a display on the case? Or do mobos really need anything special to display a temperature?

The link for it is
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=13-130-449&depa=0

Thanks!

I thought the case temp displays had their own thermal probes you could place where ever you wanted?

You probably know more than I do, Cricket, I just thought that I heard somewhere that only certain motherboards have temp. sensors, or can work with temp. sensors, or something like that.

Nome of the reviews on the case have said anything like "I didn't have the right motherboard for the sensor", so you're probably right.

Actually, I'm the wrong person to answer this question because I just use plain beige cases. I've never used any of the newer, fancier cases yet. The "fanciest" case I've built with is the Antec Lanboy (which I didn't like and won't use again) but it doesn't have a thermal display.

New mobos usually have a built in temp sensor (for BIOS or software monitoring, or maybe it's read from right near the processor, i don't know!) but there's no line-out or header or anything for an external monitor. Cricket is right, usually it's just a little sticky pad you place somewhere to get a temp reading...
