Hey,

I'm on my laptop, WinXP Pro, with MSIE 6.0. I use Adaware and Spybot Search and Destroy about twice a week. I update them about once a week. What I'm questioning is that every time I especially ran Adaware (sometimes Spybot S&D), I always get the same low risk cookies - the Ads that certainly do have little effect on my computer performance, but I would like to know what might be done to prevent those cookies. I use TrendMicro OfficeScan NT, because it was assigned by the school.

Thanks,
kram

CookieWall (http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/network/cookie.htm).

Might want to get SpywareBlaster (http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html) and SpywareGuard (http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareguard.html) too.

I hesistate to say it, but you have adjusted the cookie accept/reject in IE and, if you have it, ZoneAlarm ?
I messed this up once and not only did I have to keep logging into everything but this really minor stuff kept showing up in adaware.
More important, you've enabled the immunization function in Spybot? That one is necessary.
As for running adaware/spybot, I've found it only takes a few more minutes at shutdown to run it, so that's what I do.
What I see these days is Data Miner.
I don't really believe they're trivial, if all their protestations were worth anything I wouldn't be seeing them in adaware at all.
Paranoia is a good rule when dealing with 3rd parties.

I simply have my browser set to delete cookies on exit. There aren't any cookies that I need from session to session.
