clan= group of guys that take video games wayyy to seriously...
the advantages of bieng in a clan are you dont have to deal with smacktards (in your case for cs mofo hackers and awp whores)
also clans have scrims against other clans, matches, can be in ladders, tournaments, and you get a cool little tag infront of your name...
alot of clans can be extremely serious (one guy was on the news... he paid people to play cs on his squad)... good clans should have a server and either teamspeak or ventrillo talking programs...

haha Im im a clan.. and I can say we dont take things THAT seriously... its all in fun.. but maybe since we're just in CAL-O lol....
But yeah a clan is a group of people that form a team in COunter-Strike or any other game. And like he said you have scrims and matches... tourneys.... All that good stuff.... But it is good fun... Its refreshing to play Counter-Strike on a team oriented basis. Because when you are just in a regular ole server pubbing... Everyone just tries to get as many kills as possible... WIth clans... at least you have to work together as a team.. and its been fun so far...

It's just a laugh, getting together with mates to smack down other teams and feel good about working together
Plus you can go into tactics and strategies, and play against each other to improve skills

LoL, I'm in a Halo clan and all of us (at least in our clan) are there just have fun.... I agree with whr2206, it's refreshing to play with guys that have that "team" goal rather than just racking up kills.. and when we play against each other we're always laughing at ourselves.. This is the very first clan i've been in and I have no regrets and just having a blast with the guys in my squad..

personally if you find a good server to play on with a lot of regulars you dont have to be in a clan. I play on tammy's play ground and i know all the guys we have alot of fun. There are also alot of clans out there that people just made up and are not real clans. Like my clan ~[BAMF]~

You have to buy either CS or Half-Life then download the updates you need.

Mulderman.. but its dirt cheap... Alls you have to do is buy ONE mod of Half-LIfe... be it Team Fotress Classic.... Blue Shift.... Day of Defeat... ANd then you can download all the other games ... I bought blue shift for $14 ... and used that cd key for Counter-Strike 1.6, Day of Defeat, Team Fotress Classic, Firearms, Ricochet .... so just buy ONE mod and you can download all the others for free... Dont be tricked into buy like a pack with all those mods included for like 30-50 bucks because if you just buy ONE of them you can download the rest for free....

Yea those combo boxes with all the mods are a complete rip off. My friend bought one of those and he only used Counter-Strike but paid like 20$ more than me.
