looking for a new router.

Ok I recently solved the problem of not being able to connect to my roommates network. My antivirus had a firewall running and I didn't even realize it. Well anyway now we have a new problem. Within the last week we have been having problems with the router. It will run fine for awile and then all of the sudden we will all lose our connection to the internet. I checked my event viewer and this is what comes up everytime:

The IP address lease 192.168.1.101 for the Network Card with network address 000EA6016E30 has been denied by the DHCP server 0.0.0.0 (The DHCP Server sent a DHCPNACK message).


So im guessing that its the router. Whenever it happens we just reset the router and then everything goes back to normal. Its happening pretty frequently though like 5 or 6 times a day and its pretty annoying. I tried going in to the router and resetting it to the factory defaults and that worked for about a day or two. So im wondering should we just get a new router? If so what would be a good one to get? We really don't need anything more than a 4port router and im looking for something under $100 since I'll most likely be the one buying it since my roommates are broke.

4 port wired routers can be had for around $50.00, sometimes less using rebates. Check CompUSA, Best Buy, Circuit City, Office Depot, ect. in your area or order from www.newegg.com Good ones are Linksys, SMC, D-Link.

You might wait a few days and see if the problem will clear up I went thru that couple of years age when my ISP made some changes and my router kept locking up. It quit after couple of weeks.

You may want to check if there is an update to the firmware for your router.
