hi, i am having problems with my pc, all programs, even start up run slow, what could be the cause of this?
i run win xp on a P4 (m) 1.4mzh, 128mb ram, 10 gig hd
please help me, i am useless with pc's

your problem would definately be a lack of RAM. usually, the minimum for xp is at least 256mb. If you were to add another 256mb to what you have, you will notice a <b>huge</b> increase in performance.
Post as much information about your pc as you can, and we can try and help you chose new ram for it.

ok, is an IBM thinkpad mobile intel (R) 4 -1.8ghz with 112 mb ram laptop, hope that helps

also could it be an overload of software as it use to be a lot faster when i bought the machine, i takes over 1 min to load ms word at the moment

what is the model # of that notebook?

Go in run and type msconfig, then go to the startup tab and unckeck all that you dont need or want running at startup. Press ctrl-alt-del and click on the performance tab, it should say howmuch memory is still available.
Do virus and spyware scans. Get some more ram. If the hard drive is more than 80% full, get rid of some stuff or get a bigger hard drive.
128 megs of ram and a 10 gig hard drive is not a good combination for WinXP except for very light use with minimum applications.
