Hey everyone, I just installed two SATA hard drives in a RAID 0 array and I've run a few HDD benches. Post your scores to compare!...

THESE SCORES ARE FOR TWO SATA 160GB HITACHI 7K250 DESKSTAR HDDs IN A RAID 0 ARRAY...

HDTach:
Random Access Time: 11.8 ms
Read Speed Max: 182.8 MB/s
Read Speed Min: 36.5 MB/s
Read Speed AVERAGE: 73.0 MB/s
CPU Utilization: 3.3%

PCMark04 HDD Test:
Overall Score: 6665
XP Startup: 12.225 MB/s
Application Loading: 8.496 MB/s
File Copying: 56.306 MB/s
General HDD Use: 7.894 MB/s

I also timed my power on/boot times and power off/down times with a stop watch. This is also a good measure of HDD performance.

Power on/boot: 43 seconds
Power off/down: 9 seconds

Post your scores! THANKS!

No need for that kind of language. Perhaps not everyone has had a chance to run these benches, let alone post them. Just calm down and be patient.

I have far better things to do than sit around all day running benchmarks so I can boost my ego over numbers that are meaningless, besides it wastes too many cpu cycles from F@H which also has a benchmark and serves a real purpose.

If you wanted fast result why didn't you get raptor drives?

This kind of disrespect will not be tolerated. It will stop at once or I will use you as an example to others who wish to act in the same childish manner.

Um, your system is cool. Does that make you feel better?

Anyway, along the lines of what Matt said, relax man and maybe people will run the tests.
