I just got a new dvd-rw(internal) and was going to add it to my dvd drive and cd-rw but i couldn't figure how since the ide cable only has 3 connectors and no1 in the comp stores seem to know either. Is it possible to have all 3 cd drives working? If not why are there even 2 extra drive expansions anyways.

If you only have one HDD, you can install the DVDRW on that channel. If that is already in use, you can get a Controller card.

...if you have one HDD..you could hook it up with that..but I believe it slows down one of those components...
...install a controller card for the HDD and then use the now available IDE for your new DVD-RW... ??
opps..not important beat me to it...what he said :)

thanx for the replies.
I installed the dvdrw on to the primary IDE where the HD is. But now i get a really annoying like 10 secs delay before winxp starts, and it seem to take longer to load up also. Whats seriously bothersome is that the comp still lags on loading even when i took the drive out and the comp doesnt seem to recognize it anymore. I think it was Maxtor somethin before, now its WDC WD1200 and so on.
Make sure you are using an 80 wire IDE cable and Cable Select jumpering, not master/slave on the primary. Put the hard drive on the black end connector and an optical drive on the center gray connector.
