View Full Version : Cannot Delete DOS Partition
FDISK shows a PRI and EXT DOS partition. I would like to simply have 1 large partition. When I try to delete the EXT DOS partition in FDISK I get "Cannot delete Extended DOS Partition while logical drives exists". When I try to delete the Primary DOS partition I get the error ""Cannot delete PRIMARY DOS Partition while Extended DOS Partition exists".
This seems like a catch-22 to me... any ideas?
Well, then try to delete the logical partitions first ;)

Tried option 3 on the FDISK delete. I get the message No logical drives defined.... this is why it feels like a cath-22.
thanks

Wow, this great! thanks a lot!
You could also use the drive manufacturer's diagnosis utility to zero fill the drive. That wipes out the partition table and allows you to start over fdisking.

Zero fill takes time, delpart is quick.
Please use the edit thread function next time, oryx. Thank you.
I thought I had, but I guess not.
