Got a friend who can not access extended characters.
Alt-157 renders ¥ on my system, but nothing happens on his system.
We've looked in Control Panal\Keyboard & Windows Setup but can't find differences

Any ideas?

DOH!! found the problem. Ya gotta use the keypad (with Num Lock on).

You can also use the Character Map (run charmap).
