I have run across an interesting problem. First some background. I am running SuSE 9.1 with KDE 3.2 and Gnome 2.4 installed. Linksys 11mbs wireless Pc card connected to a linksys wireless hub on a PPPoE IDSL connection.
here is the situation:
I can connect to the web. Most sites load no problem. Some sites just hang (yes I checked those sites with another computer at neat the same time to see if the sites were just down. The sites loaded fine) I also cannot download my POP3 email from those very same sites that won't load. Other POP3 downloadxs go without a hitch.
So I was thinking MTU problem. Tweaked, found max MTU, tweaked some more...all to no avail.
Broke down and did some windows thingys..ie rebooted, uninstalled and reinstalled hardware, etc all to no avail.
So, I decided to try another desktop...ie I switched from a KDE session to a Gnome session. It worked fine! no signs of problems. So I think KDE problem. But guess what?! I load a KDE session and You guessed it>!! Everything works fine. I am now trying to recreate the problem with no luck (funny how I spend so much time trying to fix a problem, but once fixed I spend my time trying to get the problem back!).
Any one have any ideas on what could have caused this strange behavior?
