Hi all,

I tried to logon with my older version of AIM today and it refused to let me forcing me to upgrade. My question is, do I have to upgrade to version 5.5 (the latest-- which I don't really want) or are there other versions that still work. It's possible that I had version 4.8x on my system yet. Thanks in advance.

Hi Floppy,

My version is 5.2 . I don't know if 5.5 just adds more advertising and bloat on your system or not.
I use AIM so rarely that I'm getting ready to uninstall it.

Thanks for mentioning that app kram. I'd been meaning to look for something like that, but now, you just gave it to me :D.

Sure thing - here is the link: http://www.jdennis.net/DeadAIM/downloads.php . It used to be free, but they started charging money about a few months ago - I still have the old version which is completely freeware. I guess all I do is refuse to get updates :D .

Thanks for the link kram, but a simple google search gave me a link to an older, free version. The wonders of google :D.
