Certainly not sure if this is the correct forum. but here goes.
I am networking with my roommate with a Netgear wireless router with my computer the one that is hooked up to dsl.

In trying to clean up his computer, somehow Ive changed his display settings. All of his desktop icons are much larger than normal, his screensaver is all out of whack colorwise, and things are hard to read on regular screens.

The problem is when booting, it comes up with a Welcome to Windows sign on screen. I dont recall this screen coming up before, but I do recall the Network Password screen that comes up next.

He has given me all his passwords so I can go in and correct this problem, but when I sign into the Windows screen a message appears that reads:

No domain server was available to validate your password. You might not be able to gain access to some network resources.

At this point, I dont know where to go. I dont recall us ever actually setting up a "network neighborhood" as there is no info there on my computer, and I havent done anything different to it.

So not being able to get into his control panel, display I cant change the settings on here.

Any advice will be appreciated, thanks.

We are both running Win 98se

Network properties can be found on the desktop Network Neighborhood, right click then properties or in control panel also I believe start>programs>acessories> communication. It's been a while since I've use 98 so I might be a lil off.

Went in and changed a registry key, and everything is back to working as should be. Thanks all for your help.
