I'm planning to make a dual PC DAW. I only plan to use one PC for dial-up net access.

thanks

DAW?

Do you mean connection sharing?

Hi,

I'm planning to make a digital audio workstation and I want to connect the 2 computers together (one as a master sequencer and a slave running a sampler). I was curious if I could use a cat5 cable by itself or if I need a switch between them.

thanks :)

You connect two computer together using a crossover cable (CAT 5) and a NIC in each PC.

Not sure if your software works accross a network though.

No switch is needed to connect two computers together, all that is needed is two PCs that have a NIC card in each and a CAT 5 crossover cable, then the software in windows or whatever program you are using needs to be configured correctly to pass data to each PC.
