Welcome to PCmech

I havent done it myself but i found this step-by-step guide here : http://customersupport.tivo.com/tivoknowbase/root/public/tv2008.htm

google gave some other results also you could check out. Post back and let us know if you get it to work.

Go to Tivo settings, Phone and Network, change the connection type to Network if it didn't already when you plugged in the NIC, then setup wireless & tcpip settings. Very simple really. It does not support WPA encryption, only WAP, so mine is still on a phone line until the tivo software supports this.

thanks actually i noticed that it requires software version 4.0 or higher and i am and 3.1.something and after 4 straight daily calls it isn't upgrading

my main reason for doing this is that i want to be able to move the video recorded on my tivo over to the computer 's hard drive so i can then burn it to dvd is this even possible or am i wasting my time?

thanks again for all the help

No, I'm afraid thats not possible with the Tivo Software. You could use a settop DVD burner like a VCR and do it that way, but obviously that requires buying a settop box.

The only uses for the adaptor are music and photo streaming to your tv/receiver and streaming programs from one tivo to another.

well if you can stream the video from one tivo to the other why not to the computer instead of a tivo? there has got to be a way to do this.

I guess there may be a hack available, but i doubt it. Tivo are under the gun when it comes to people being able to share programs.
