So what are you saying you cant turn on the Computer with the power on/off button. If this is the case then I would go back and look at the jumper header where you plugged the power switch in the mobo to make sure everything is right

Help

Checked that already it looks to be correct. Its a blue & a white wire in a 2 pin plug.On one side of the plug it says pwrsw on the other it has a triangle on one pin & blank on the other. How do you know which is ground & which is pwr?The manual for the MB tells which pin is pwr but the plug doesn't.Thanks in advance.

Makes no difference which way you put the power switch and reset button leads on - they are not polarity sensitive. The LED's are polarity sensitive, if you get those backwards there won't be any damage, they just won't work.

Help

Can I short across the two pins with it in the case?
Would I just remove the plug for power switch & short across pins?
Will it short when I flip switch on back for power supply?
Is it possible this case is bad (power switch inop)?
Thanks in advance.

you can short the pins with a screwdriver. i'm not sure what you mean by" will it short when i flip switch on back for power supply", the power supply should be on all the time, just touch the pins and it should turn on the computer -touch again and it will turn it off . if this works then something is prob. wrong with the on-off button on the case. yes you can do this with the MB in the case.

You can, but you really need to take the motherboard out of the case. You're trying to see if the motherboard is grounding out/shorting to something. A grounded/shorted motherboard won't boot up.

Yes, just momentarily short the two pins.

Short? I don't know what you mean. All the switch on the power supply does is allow power to go to the motherboard and the rest of the components.

Yes, it's possible. To see if it's just the switch that's bad, swap the power switch and reset switch connectors on the motherboard and try to power up the computer with the reset switch. But you really need to take the motherboard out of the case first.
