I'm a newbie and i'm a visual learner, i been reading a lot about comps but i really can't learn unless i touch and see the stuff...im a high school studen so i dont have the cash to produce to buy components and test stuff so i was wondering if there is out there these mini-computer kits that u can buy and test...i tried googling, nada. Tried dogpile..umm didn't work (i think their server crashed or something)...im having no luck anyone wanna suggest something please?

I don't know about mini-computer kits (like electronics kits?) but you could buy cheap old computers and work on them to your hearts content. I think you could get older PII, PIII and even P4 computers (or their AMD equivalents) for under $50.

Or find out who the computer geeks in your school are and start hanging out with them...they'll probably have lots of spare parts lying around you could play with.

some recycling centers have a computer section just go there (if you have a car) they are probably good just old and stuff

If you really want some new (well ok, old) toys to play with, try eBay. You can get older systems or sometimes even a set of 4 or 5 boxes for $50 - $200.

well thank you thank you..those are all good ideas, im going to do that..i plan to build my own computer when i get back from summer vacation something different that can do everything (not a pumped out gamers comp)... i know a lot about computers but since im starting out i think it's best i start to mess with some oldies like you guys suggested get inside the BIOS and everything even try some newbie OC(over clocking)..when i think im good(lol) i'll build something around $500-$800
