The only thing that I might change is your PSU. Rosewill is kind of a coin toss. Might be worth it to go with a more well known brand just to be safe. Everything else looks good.
Think you could do a status report on that Heatsink after you have it running? I'd like to know how it works out.

Yeah I thought getting a house brand PSU might be a gamble, but it looked cheap and I've gotten Rosewill stuff before. So idk...I'm looking into getting a Thermaltake or Sparkle PSU. Are those good brands?
Anyways, yeah when I get that HSF I'll post the temps. Thanks for the advice, ~brad

The main issue I have with Rosewill is that they are pretty much just rebranding whatever they can get their hands on cheap. Not sure if it's 100% true, but their CD Drives are Sony rebrands alot of the time, and their PSUs could be anything from the people who make Sparkle (name esxapes me just now) to an Ultra.

The last time I looked at a Rosewill burner, it appeared to be an AOpen - because the pictures at Newegg showed an AOpen branded software CD. Sparkle is made by Fortron Source, a good manufacturer. You just don't know, the PSU's could be made by a Deer subsidiary.

you might want to look at an xp-90 or xp-120 heat sink, but if you get a retail processor that heat sink and fan will work great. Power supply look at the Xclio best bang for the buck. The Gigabyte heat sink you have listed is good, keeps my prescott pretty cool but it's pretty loud, your choice.

I'm considering that, but the thing is...when I bought a retail celeron, the HSF sucked really bad and my system was pretty hot until I got a new HSF and I saw a HUGE difference in temp. I would save like 50$ if I got the retail CPU and HSF but idk if I wanna trust it all. Any advice on the stock cooling stuff for AMD's is appreciated...

Athlon 64's run pretty cool, so the stock HSF should be fine. Not only that, with the retail boxed processor you get a 3 year warranty.
