graphics/mobo question

bought my graphics card only a year ago (radeon 9800pro) so i dont really want to replace that.. i want to know if my graphics card is goin to hold the system back with the following specs: Asus a8n-e / athlon 64 3500+ venice / radeon 9800pro

It won't be compatible, period. The A8N-E supports PCI-E and not AGP -- the 9800 Pro is AGP.

What are your current specs? If they're modern enough, you may actually get a bigger boost from upgrading the card than from upgrading the motherboard and CPU.

it wont support at all? thats a shame i only it got a year ago. My current system is old - it was the latest greatest in february 2002. XP 1900+ system with 266 FSB MOBO

the asus a8v will work it has pci and agp instead of pci express

I will never condone using VIA products. In my opinion, it's better to get an MSI nForce3 Ultra board than to use a VIA-chipset board from Asus.

yeah im pretty sure im goin to go with the a8n-e which is nforce4. an get a pci-e graphics card
