Cool New Intel Build: Suggestions Please

I'm in the process of planning out a new computer. I cannot decide whether to get Intel or AMD so I'm trying to compile a build for both setups. I've already made a post for an AMD plan and have that ready to go, so I'd like some suggestions for an Intel plan. I plan to do gaming, office work, and websurfing on this new computer; and both speed and stability are important to me, reliability probably the most important. AMD offers more performance for the price but Intel offers more stability, and I want both.

I currently need suggestions for the chipset, motherboard, CPU, and memory.

Here's what I have so far carried over from the AMD build and I appreciate any suggestions

That's not necessarily true. If you choose your parts wisely you can build a AMD based system that is rock solid. Use good quality parts that are known to be compatible and stay away from bargain basement low quality stuff and any computer you build will run stable.

You'll get a lot of both stability and performance from both AMD and Intel - just like with stability, I wouldn't write off Intel as underperforming. What we recommend for Processor will depend a lot upon what your budget is, but I put down what I think is in line with your other components.

Intel Pentium 4 530 J (172)

Asus P5GD1 i915 chipset (105)

Corsair ValueSelect RAM DDR400 512x2 (80)

Hope that helps,
